Welcome to our FAQ page! Here, we’ve gathered answers to common questions about our training approach, programs, and what to expect when working with Beyond Dogs. We’re dedicated to helping you and your dog build a stronger bond, so if you don’t find what you’re looking for here, please feel free to reach out directly—we’re happy to help!

  • 1. What services do you offer?
    Our training is for every dog – big, small, young and old. Individual services include: · Private Puppy School · Private Initial Consultations · Private or Group Follow up sessions · Group sessions · Board and Train intensives Find out more on our Services Page
  • 2. How many sessions will I need?
    How many sessions will you need? It might only take 1.... But that will be determined by the dog, the severity of the behaviours, and how the dog responds to the training. Typically we suggest 2-4 sessions spaced out over 4-6 weeks.
  • Can we start straight away?
    Yes - If you would like to get started and book some training, please let us know what your availability is. Are you free during the week? If yes, what times and days? Or are you only available on the weekends? Weekend spots are very popular and do book out fast.
  • Do you train on weekends?
    Yes – We run Group sessions on Saturday mornings and have training sessions all day Saturdays. Sunday bookings are at the special request of clients and will incur an additional surcharge.
  • How much will it cost?
    · Initial Consultation - $290 · Follow up consults - $120/hr Depending on where you live, there may be additional travel fees.
  • Do you come to me?
    Beyond Dogs offers private, in-home training sessions, where the trainers come to you. This allows us to do an assessment of your dog and their behaviour.
  • Do you do Dog Walking or Boarding?
    Beyond Dogs does offer Board and train intensives by special request. These must be booked well in advance. Beyond Dogs does not currently offer a dog walking service.
  • How long have you been doing this for?
    Matt is a Professional Dog Trainer with +5 years of professional experience and +10 years of volunteer experience. Courtney is a Professional Dog Trainer with +1 years of professional experience and +4 years of volunteer experience.
  • What equipment will I need?
    None – we will bring all the equipment we need with us. Sometimes recommendations are made about additional equipment that may be required for the training.
  • My dog has bitten someone/another dog before – can you help?
    Yes – we specialise in addressing aggression and reactivity. We have helped numerous clients through similar settings, and we are confident that we can help you too!
